6th Generation Projector Headlamp Install

This is a write up that I am requesting. This conversion involves swapping the OEM headlamps with JDM projector headlamps. Projector headlamps are the headlamps found on luxury/newer cars and offer brighter light and better visability at night. This glass protecting the bulb is clear on the projector headlamps and it looks far better on the celica IMO. I have heard of this being done by two people but have yet to see a proper write up.

Here is what I know about the install:

Part numbers (from the messageboard courtesy "ST205"):

81014-20100 Projector headlight left
81012-20100 Projector headlight right
81170-20050 Far light left
81130-20050 Far light right

I seriously doubt that these can be ordered from your local parts counter, and suspect you will have to find a company willing to import the parts for you. These headlights are also no DOT approved and are thus "illegal" to install.

The JDM projector headlamps were found on the SSIII and ST205 models 1997-on. They were not exported outside of Japan (As far as I know). You may be able to find these from someone that has imported a front cut form one of these cars. The swap is a little more involved than simply swapping in the lights. A little bodywork and minor rewiring is neccessary, and they will align slightly off (because they are from a RHD car). Price will run approximately $300-1000+ for the swap.
