Other Codes

When ordering parts, and/or checking compatibilities, it can be necessary to know the production date, model number, engine number, color code, trim, axle or transmission code. If you want to double check the specific codes that apply to your car you should use the identification label

On all Toyota cars, the I.D. label is located either on the inside of the driver's door. On vehicle's manufactured prior to 1989 the I.D. plate will be located in the engine compartment on or near the firewall.

  • Production date information will appear on the Identification plate in the following format: 08/88 for August of 1988. Please note that new models are released a few months prior to the beginning of the year (usually August-November). (i.e. production date of 08/93 is not necessarily a 1993 model.)
  • Color and Trim code numbers will appear together, such as 040/FO34, with the digits to the left of the slash indicating the exterior color code and the final four digits indicating the interior trim code. The third and fourth digits of the interior trim code indicates the interior color ( ie. FO34 = interior color code # 3 ).
