If someone needs a part they can post up and see if someone has it. They can work out the money and shipping among themselves. Just a simple want to buy/trade section?
Just put a minium post count, or a minium member time on it before they can post up something to sell/trade.
To keep down on scamming.

Thats not a bad idea.  What would be a good min post count to participate?

hm.. since we barely started this forum up id say maybe 30-50?

but still just because someone has a certain amount of posts doesnt meant they are trustworthy.. it just helps others trust them more.

Maybe just make it local & that toyotacelicaonline is not responsible for anything that happens.

Yeah.  Only worried about someone making 30 bogus posts to get privelages, or potentially just posting the same classified ad in every section of the forum EXCEPT the buy/sell/trade forum, like a certain someone already did, lol.

We will figure it out and can change anything as we grow.

My yamaha fourm is set up that you have to be a member for 90 days and in good standing. They also have a feedback section next to the buy sell trade section. So if the deal goes good or bad you leave feedback about them. A little ebay kind of thing.
That way you know if someone is trying to screw members.

Ah, yes, the ITrader.  That is a plugin available for VBulletin, and this is a Simple Machines Forum.  However, I am sure I can do something about this.

Ok, went ahead and created the forum.  You can't post unless you have 15 or more posts already.

I was screwing around the with the permissions until I got it to work, but I don't know what I was doing.  If anyone notices anything out of the ordinary, let me know!

Getting a lot of mis-categorized posts because of people signing up just to post in the BST section and not being able to because of the post count filter.

All in favor of removing the post count filter?  We can still delete blatant spam.

Sure it just means a little more work for you. If it gets out of hand you can always put back up.
But I do worry about scammers and theives just signing up to pulls scams and cons. But we'll see.

Scams are usually pretty easy to spot.  Anyone with something really celica-specific and a low price probably isn't a scammer.  If anyone sees something fishy, they should reply to the post and call them out on it.

Yeah, you have to burn them out, or they will get away w/ a lot before they get caught. Too many scumbags in this world. Stealing and pulling scams to get rich, and it's usually when things are the worst. A tragedy like "hurricane Katrina" and these shitbags come running out of the wood pile to feast on all the people in need. Or running down there and saying they live there and apply for aid. When they live hundreds of miles away. Makes me so pissed, I wont to......you can fill in the rest.
