I found my headers on ebay. I can remeber how much it was, but it was cheaper than anywhere else. I went to O'Reilly's and got some Spectre intake pipes and filter. I relocated the battery to the trunk, and am now running my pipe to a cone filter right next to my cruise control. You can get PVC pipe instead of the Spectre, it doesn't matter. The hardest part of uninstalling the stock intake is the lower box. Once you remove that box there is a hole, that leads in front of wheel well, but I did not go that way, because my pipes won't fit down.

Ok thanks. Is there a place you recommend to look for headers? how would I go about installing a CAI then? Just build one custom or just go with the short air intake? Is there a definitive improvement in one over the other?

There is no premade cai. most of the brand names are short air intakes. There is a way to knock out high beam for cold air (i have done everything to get ready for this except for high beam), but I wont do it because it rains so much her in Kansas, I'm sure you have same problem in Colorado (snow).
Also another modification you might want to look at are headers. I installed mine in December 09 and I have been getting slightly better gas mileage and you will get more power than intake modifications. |

I work for Toyota of Knoxville for 2 yrs Worked 3yrs for Hyundai and Nissan in Knoxville. Then moved here to Charleston, SC. Been w/ Toyota here for 12yrs next month. I've been a master ASE since 1992 and made Toyota Master in 2000. First Hybrid certified tech for my dealership. Senior technician for the shop. They won't call it "shop foreman" or they would have to pay me more.HAHA Love Toyota cars. Wish we still made a couple of turbo models here in the US. It kills me that we have become the boring commuter car company. All green and sleepy. I have owned a meriad of Toyotas over the years. 3 Celicas all at once all 1990 models 03 highlander (currently own wife's car) 1986 turbo SR5 4x4 truck (my first truck, at the paint shop, Waiting to put my newly built motor back in it and converting it to 5spd) 83 and a 91 tercel 92 paseo 85,93 and a 96 Corolla So i've owned a couple of Toyotas. Not to mention my 05 Yamaha R1 and other bikes. And non Toyota cars. can i ask? when was the year toyota tercel was been created? thanks in advance. i just need to know this matter. --------------------------------------------------- toyota tercel parts miyata kira |

Ok thanks. I live in Colorado, so we have everything here from 95 degrees and sunny to 10 below with snow and ice. I'm purchasing a '95 Celica GT with 180k miles on it. I'm basically looking for ways to sup' up the performance a bit without breaking the bank. Any fuel benefits would be very appreciated, but as long as they're not detrimental, i'm looking for practical mods. I'm not expecting a 10 second car out of this, just a slighty quicker car. Thanks for the help. I'm looking at a CAI with a wheel well route. Is there a certain one that I should be looking for? Or is a short air intake enough? I'm very very new to Celicas, and very new to modifications like I said, so any advice helps a lot. Thanks again.
